Relationships Between
Loyal True Blue Lodges & Other Loyal Orders
Loyal True Blue Lodges enjoy excellent relationships with other Loyal Orders.
When our Exploratory Committee first set out to explore the viability of establishing LTB Lodges in the UK, we contacted both the Canadian LTB and British Loyal Orders, informing them of our wishes and activities. It was agreed that, if any of these Loyal Orders raised an objection to our presence, then we would not establish LTB Lodges within their jurisdiction. Furthermore, we decided that we would only set up an LTB Lodge if there was an appropriate level of support to justify its existence. No objections whatsoever were raised against us by the other Loyal Orders. All reactions that we received were very positive indeed. |
Apprentice Boys
In early 2018, the General Committee of the Apprentice Boys of Derry announced their support for our plans and wished us well.
Canadian LTB
In the Spring of 2018, a Canadian member of the LTB's Executive informed us that considerable support was starting to build for our vision of setting up British lodges.
In August 2018, the LTB Provincial Grand Lodge of Ontario gave us their formal permission to set up LTB Lodges in the UK.

Orange OrderOn 5th January 2019, we received a very cordial, pleasant and helpful message from Bro Ian Wilson, the Past Grand Master of Scotland and Editor of 'The Orange Torch'. This was an incredibly touching gesture that was immensely appreciated
In February 2019, the Grand Chaplain of the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland, Bro Rev Jason Lingiah, very kindly agreed to serve as the Founding Chaplain of Scotland's LTB Lodge. This was a very positive and encouraging development. In March 2019, the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland confirmed in writing that it had no objections whatsoever to its members joining LTB Lodges. On 2nd April 2019, we received a very encouraging message from the Grand Secretary of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland, Bro Rev Mervyn Gibson, wishing us well in our endeavours. In early 2020, the Legal Counsel of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland, Bro David Brewster LLB, became a Founding Officer of Ulster's LTB Lodge. |
Official Orange Publications
The April 2019 edition of The Orange Torch (official magazine of the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland) contained a very warm, supportive and helpful article about the drive to establish LTB Lodges throughout the UK.
This was followed by a similarly kind and encouraging article in the November / December 2019 edition of The Orange Banner (official magazine of the Provincial Grand Orange Lodge of Manchester).
We were then given two very large adverts (free of charge) in the November 2021 and December 2021 editions of The Orange Standard (official publication of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland).

Are Loyal True Blue Lodges Part of the Wider Orange Family ?
In Canada, yes.
In the British Isles, no. In Canada, the LTB is part of the Wider Orange Family - despite the fact that it is also independent and self-governing. This is confirmed by the Canadian Grand Lodge website. In the British Isles, the LTB is a separate, autonomous Loyal Order in its own right - i.e. like the Apprentice Boys in the sense that, whilst they are indeed a Loyal Order, they are not a part of the Wider Orange Family. |
