Loyal True Blue Lodges
The Lodges of the 'Loyal True Blue Association' were founded in Canada, in the year 1867.
This means that they are over 150 years old.
They are a unique and self-governing Loyal Order that is distinctively Canadian in nature.
In days gone by, they were administered by a 'Supreme Grand Lodge'.
Loyal True Blue (or LTB) Lodges boast a very rich history, culture and heritage.
They are the custodians of three beautiful degrees - Blue, White, and Scarlet.
Their regalia is blue in colour. Lodge Membership is mixed - open to both men and women.
You can join an LTB Lodge without being a member of any other Loyal Order.

Loyal True Blue Ceremonial Sitting Lodges in the UK
The 'UK Exploratory Committee for the Establishment of LTB Lodges' was founded in 2017.
After taking initial soundings, the members of this committee came to the conclusion that there was indeed sufficient interest across the UK and Ireland to justify setting up a small number of Ceremonial Sitting Lodges.
They therefore decided to approach the Canadian LTB and ask for something that had never been given before - namely formal permission to set up LTB Lodges outside Canada.
Finally, in August 2018, the LTB Provincial Grand Lodge of Ontario took the very important decision to allow autonomous Loyal True Blue Lodges to be set up in the UK and Ireland.
Also at this time, expressions of interest were received about setting up LTB Lodges in the USA and Australia.
In 2019, an LTB Ceremonial Sitting Lodge was set up in Scotland.
In 2020, an LTB Ceremonial Sitting Lodge was set up in Ulster.
The main purpose in setting up UK-based LTB Lodges was to ensure that their unique and beautiful Degree System would be preserved - hence their designation as 'Ceremonial'.

Degree Days - When the Candidate Receives All 3 Degrees in One Day
LTB Lodges confer a total of 3 degrees.
Each UK-based LTB Lodge holds at least one 'Degree Day' per year.
On a 'Degree Day' - candidates will receive all 3 LTB Degrees IN ONE DAY (rather than on three separate occasions, as is the case in other Loyal Orders). This is referred to as 'a one-day-conferral'.

General Practice in UK-Based LTB Lodges
UK-based LTB Lodges usually meet at least three times a year. This includes Business Meetings and Degree Days.
On these occasions, a Charity Bag is passed around the members in order to raise money for either a charity or some other good cause.

Why do UK-Based LTB Lodges Describe Themselves as 'Sitting Lodges' ?
The main focus of UK-based LTB Lodges is 'ceremonial' - i.e. the preservation and conferral of our 3 degrees.
Like the Royal Arch Purple Institution, we primarily exist in order to confer degrees.
For that reason, we do not see ourselves as a parading organisation.
Our lodges are therefore referred to as 'Sitting Lodges'.
Having said that, if another Loyal Order is hosting a parade, event or service of some kind - and they are kind enough to invite us to take part - then of course it goes without saying that we are free to do so. An excellent example of this is the Canadian 12th Demonstration in Toronto where Loyal True Blue Lodges participate in the parade and LTB Officers take part in the platform proceedings.
